It is a commonly performed skin lifting procedure that rejuvenates and tightens the skin of the face and neck when a non-surgical approach is desirable by the patient. It is an office procedure in which PDO threads are inserted in the deeper layers of skin to cause lifting of skin, contraction of underlying subcutaneous tissue to tighten the skin and improve its elasticity and fine lines.
Usually, patients who are between 40-60 years of age with sagging skin and prominent skin folds over the face without volume loss or with moderate volume loss of face who do not want surgical intervention are ideal candidates for this procedure.
Type of anesthesia - Done under local anesthesia, the patient is awake throughout the procedure
Insertion of PDO threads in different directions and layers under the skin and pulling it opposite to the sag, thereby lifting and tightening the skin upwards. Can be done both for face and neck.
After your surgery
Postoperative care: Mild swelling with or without bruising is expected, which starts subsiding from day 3. Mild dimpling of skin and sensation of tightness is there which resolves within a few days of the procedure. The patient should abstain from alcohol, strenuous exercises, or direct heat and is advised soft diet for 2-3 days.
Immediate lifting of the skin is appreciated post-procedure. Tightness and rejuvenation are expected to occur within a few weeks. The threads are resorbable, and the effect of lift lasts for 9-12 months.
