The surgical Brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, helps reduce horizontal wrinkles over the forehead and improve frown lines. It can be combined with fat grafting or dermal fillers.

Right candidate

Patients who are non-smokers with deep horizontal creases and lax skin over the forehead with realistic expectations are ideal candidates.

Type of anesthesia - Preferred under general anesthesia. Can be done under local anesthesia.

Procedure

In a classic brow lift procedure incision across the top of the scalp behind the hairline or on the hairline is given depending on patient preference and the skin flap elevated. Excess skin marked and excised and the incision closed. An alternate approach is endoscopically or limited incision (temporal) surgery.

After your surgery

Post operative care : Swelling and loss of sensation are expected, which improves with time. The patient is given the headband to wear for some time. Stitches are usually removed on day 7. A patient can be discharged the same day as per his/her preference.

Results

The surgical browlift gives a youthful appearance to brow along with rejuvenation of forehead. The deep lines, however, can be improved with dermal fillers or fat grafting.

Non-surgical brow lift

This can be achieved using BOTOX which selectively paralyzes certain muscles to lift the brow. The effect is temporary, lasting for six months. Alternately DERMA FILLERS can be used underneath eyebrows to create a fuller and more youthful appearance.
